Poolaki is Persian saffron candy that Iranians use for drinking tea. This candy is one of Isfahan city’s souvenirs.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • ½ cup of water
  • ¼ cup of vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brewed saffron

Instructions

  • Mix water, sugar, and vinegar
  • After the sugar solved in the water add saffron
  • After 15 minutes heating pour a tablespoon of the mix on an aluminium foil at a time
  • Wait until they make a solid texture

Notes

  • To test whether the mix is ready or not, you can pour a pinch of it in freezing water. If it became solid, it is prepared. Otherwise, it is not, and you should continue heating.
