Naan Taftoon

To make a homemade Naat Taftoon, you need to make the Taftoon's dough. You should knead it and then let to rest for some minutes. Finely you have to roll out the dough thinly on a tray and bake it for 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1⅔ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon yeast
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon brewed saffron
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Sesame seeds as much asneeded

Instructions

  • Grab a small bowl. Pour hot water in it. Add yeast, sugar, salt, turmeric, cardamom powder, and olive oil in it. Stir thoroughly.
  • You need a large bowl. Sift the flour in it.
  • Add flour to mixture gradually as you stir the mixture. mix them and make the primary dough
  • Grease your hand.
  • Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes with greasy hands until it gets ball shape.
  • Oil another bowl. Place the dough in it. Coat the dough with extra oil. Cover it with plastic.
  • Let the dough rise at room temperature in a warm place for one hour until it doubles in size.
  • After one hour, uncover the dough. Knead it again for 5 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 430 F for 30 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into 4 parts and make the ball shape. Cover the balls and let them rest for some more minutes.
  • Now uncover the balls. Put them on the baking tray. Roll them up.
  • Spread the sesame seeds on them. Brush some oil on the dough's sheet.
  • Put the plate in the oven. Bake them for 10 minutes.
  • Take out the tray. Separate the baked Naan Taftoon sheets from the plate.
  • Serve it warm.
  • Noosh-e-Jaan.

Notes

  1. Some people like Naan-e-Taftoon simple without sesame seeds. So when you make it, make sure that your gust or your family like it.
  2. If you serve it warm, it would be more pleasant.
  3. You can store the Naan-e-Taftoon for several days. So put them in an airtight container in a dry and cool place or a refrigerator.
